Plot

A squad of soldiers are attacked by vampires in the South American rain forest. A few return but are sent back in under the pretense to help out more American soldiers but their real mission is to rescue the squad leader's ex-wife who also happens to be his commander's god daughter that is studying beetles; she's young, attractive and blond wearing revealing clothes of course.

Pros

Lots of blood, gore, gun play and the still lovely Lynda Carter.

Cons

Ok, can't we do a vampire movie without the standard subplot involving a man having to go into harms way to save his ex-wife/girlfriend/daughter/etc.? The humor was sporadic and missed its mark more times than not and Lynda wasn't in the film nearly long enough to keep me happy. There are plenty of fight scenes but the music was, at times, really annoying.

Extras

  • Audio Commentary with Director Kevin VanHook and Star Casper Van Dien
  • Photo & Concept Art Gallery
  • Script on DVD-ROM

Recommendation

These aren't your father's vampires so don't expect the normal film about night creatures; expect more like super human creatures that can move around in the daylight and kick butt. This was a made-for-TV horror movie and that is what you get. Horror fans will want to add this to their list but everyone else will probably need to look elsewhere.
